PA28-140 (All Aircraft manufactured with fin fairing part # 63517-00

PA28-150 (All aircraft)

PA28-160 (All aircraft)

PA28-180 (serial #'s 28-1 thru 28-7105244)

This modification requires the removal of the "old style" dorsal fairing 63517-00 and the installation of the newer two piece dorsal. The forward section is riveted to the fuselage while the aft section is installed with screws and is removable for inspection and maintenance.

The labor time for installation is approximately three hours. This time does not include paint. Painting my be accomplished off the airplane (before final riveting) or on the aircraft (after riveting). It is recommended that you drill these parts before you paint them.

The dorsal fin fairing smoothes the airflow over the Vertical Fin and Rudder to improve rudder control effectiveness. The dorsal fin fairing adds beauty and makes it appear to be a much newer and more expensive aircraft. A slight cruise speed advantage is also gained.
